Best sunset ever at Fremont Lookout at Mt Rainier?!! For now…👇🏻   I didn’t visit my first national park until I was 26 and it changed everything.   Two years later, I quit my job in Chicago, moved into a van, and built a whole new way of living out west because of the freedom, beauty, and healing I found in these wild places.   Someday, I want to show my kids the parks where “mom lived” when she risked everything to chase this dream. But right now? I’m scared I might not get to because our parks are in trouble. Here’s why ⬇️   • Last year, over 330 million people visited our national parks (record breaking year) • Despite record demand, this summer parks are facing staff cuts, campground closures, dirty facilities, and longer wait times. • Why? Because of budget cuts from DOGE, a federal program created to slash federal spending. • Already, 1,000 rangers have been laid off and 2,000 seasonal jobs canceled just as parks entered their busiest season. Even with RECORD breaking years! • These cuts mean less maintenance, fewer safety procedures, reduced trash pickup, and even some trail and visitor center closures. • Plus, areas of these parks are at future risk of being privatized & sold off.   You might’ve seen billboards in your community about this as a part of a campaign by @perfectunion to raise awareness for what’s going on… because keeping this conversation going is important!   Let’s keep our parks wild, open, and accessible so we all have the chance to experience them. Especially the future generations to come.   I know what these parks gave me: adventure, community, healing, and a whole new life. I want future generations to experience that too.   #moreperfectunionpartner
