Japan Van Tour + pricing & where to sleep/shower/bathroom👇🏻 My friends and I rented 2 vans for 4 people to storm chase across Hokkaido, Japan for 11 days!  Here are some details:  Notes: • NO running water in the vans! • There is an emergency toilet • There is a heater but the first night we were freezing so we bought an extra blanket • You NEED a class c or d international license to drive these vans (smaller you don’t). Just got to AAA and get your stamps. Its $30 and you don’t need anything extra. • Resort parking is free, so we would wake up early, get a spot & then do breakfast • We didn’t really cook in the van. Only stored food.  Sleep: • Michi-no-Eki (FREE rest areas across Japan) • RV Parks • 24/7 paid lots in the city • With the snow, stealth camping wasn’t really a thing  Bathrooms/Shower: • Onsens (traditional Japanese hot springs!) they are everywhere in Japan but make sure to check if they are tattoo friendly! ($3-$15) • RV parks have showers  Pricing: • $3,200 for 11 days total • So for 2 people that $160 per person per day • You can decide to add additional insurance for $20 per day • This makes it SO MUCH CHEAPER then getting hotels  Mistakes & Thoughts: • There were four of us and we got 2 vans. Now seeing how much storage they had, we could have gone with smaller rigs that were cheaper. Or 1 van to sleep and 1 rental car for gear. • GARBAGE is a huge issue. We couldn’t find dumpsters anywhere!! So we held onto most of our garbage throughout the time. We did empty small loads at 7/11 but it was very small.  Where we rented from: • Hokkaido Nomad Vans • They were lovely! We even had a van break down & then they replaced it within two hours. A little annoying but still great service.  LMK if you have any questions! #japan #japanvanlife #niseko
