how atlas is doing after his hospital scare + what’s next for us👇🏻 So far, atlas is doing SO MUCH BETTER! It’s been three weeks since his blockage, so crossing my fingers it stays that way for good 🫶 But I made this video to help people who may not know this could happen. So here’s a bit of info :) 🚨 Urgent Warning Signs of a Urinary Blockage in Cats: 1. Straining to pee but producing little or no urine 2. Frequent trips to the litter box (or in your case, trying to pee outside the van) 3. Crying, yowling, or showing pain while trying to urinate 4. Licking the genitals excessively (a sign of discomfort) 5. Blood in the urine 6. Urinating outside the litter box 7. Vomiting 8. Lethargy or hiding 9. Loss of appetite 10. Firm, painful belly when touched 📝 What I’m doing for prevention: - Transition from dry to prescription wet food - Swapping his litter for unscented clumping + using pretty litter twice a month to check for anything off - managing stress (this is a bit tricky because we do van life but he’s lived in a van almost his entire life so travel is a part of his normal routine) ☀️ Summer plans: Atlas and I have been in Jackson in the Grand Tetons for the last three weeks. We are currently on a quick trip to the Midwest to visit my family but after we are heading to Washington (I’m looking for a cabin to buy!!) and then visiting a few new areas in Canada like Squamish & Vancouver Island! Lmk if you have recs!
