Cream Skin Refillable Toner & Moisturizer with Ceramides and Peptides
Hydrating Toner for Dry Skin
I almost skipped creating this post entirely. When planning my Sephora sale coverage, I was hesitant about including skincare. Frankly, I've been underwhelmed by Sephora's skincare offerings in the past. But something remarkable happened this summer. Sephora revamped their skincare section with a dedicated "What's New in Skincare" area, and it's truly impressive. Brands I've loved and used for years are finally available at Sephora, and every visit reveals exciting new discoveries. Skincare now occupies about a third of my local Sephora, and the associates are incredibly knowledgeable, offering fantastic recommendations.
So, I'm thrilled to share my top 10 skincare picks from this year's Sephora sale, plus a bonus: five body care products I'm obsessed with. These aren't your typical department store finds – Sephora has moved beyond the same old products, and it's a game-changer.
My mission is to bring you the best skincare, tirelessly testing and experimenting with products (which I secretly love!). \ I started my skincare journey later in life, with no real routine before 50. But I've transformed my skin (before and after pictures below!) by establishing a solid routine and sticking to it.
So much skincare is all hype and marketing, but at 50, 60, and 70, we need products that deliver. If you started late or neglected your skincare, you have catching up to do. You don't want to waste time or money on ineffective products. That's where I come in – helping you streamline your choices and find quality products that work for mature skin.
These are my holy grail products. I could have chosen many more, but I narrowed it down to the 10 I use daily and repurchase consistently. I've used these products long enough to confidently recommend them, knowing they deliver results. They've improved my skin's hydration, diminished pigmentation, and reduced the appearance of fine lines.
I'll share these products in a typical skincare routine order, from cleansers to sunscreen, followed by my bonus body care picks.
This year's new release quickly became a favorite. It's a super gentle, ophthalmologist-tested cleanser, which is crucial for my often red and irritated eyes. This cleanser doesn't sting at all. My previous holy grail, The Ordinary Squalane Cleanser, which I used religiously for years, suddenly started irritating my eyes. Finding this Dr. Dennis Gross cleanser was a relief. I use a small amount on dry skin, rinse it off, and it's gentle enough for a single cleanse in the morning. This is especially helpful for removing residual retinol, particularly retinaldehyde's yellow tint, without irritating my sensitive skin.

This long-time favorite was one of the first serums that truly worked for my mature, sensitive, dry skin. Lactic acid is excellent for this skin type, and it's a great introductory exfoliating serum. It gently removes dead skin cells, revealing brighter, smoother skin underneath. I've noticed a significant improvement in my skin texture and tone since incorporating this into my routine.

This pigmentation-targeting serum has been a staple since its launch (full disclosure: I was involved in the launch, but my love for it is genuine!). I even travel with it, applying it over makeup on planes if my skin feels dry. It's packed with pigment-fighting ingredients: diglucosyl gallic acid (reduces redness), kojic acid (reduces dark spots), alpha-arbutin (improves uneven skin tone), and niacinamide (brightens, protects the skin barrier, and supports the moisture barrier). This serum tackles hydration, fine lines, and pigmentation simultaneously.

I know eye creams are controversial, and I didn't use one until recently. But this luxurious Tatcha eye cream is my absolute favorite. It brightens and hydrates the under-eye area without causing milia (small white bumps). I apply it early in my routine, around the third step, allowing it to absorb while I apply other serums.

I pair the Tatcha eye cream with these reusable silicone eye masks. The Sephora version is green. These truly are "forever" masks – rinse and reuse them with any eye cream. They make a great gift, especially with the Tatcha eye cream. Both Dieux and Tatcha are making strides in sustainability with reusable masks and refillable packaging.

Sunscreen is non-negotiable! Even if you skip everything else, cleansing and applying sunscreen daily makes a huge difference over time. This reformulated Tatcha sunscreen is a 2024 winner. Their initial mineral sunscreen launch was a miss, but this one is phenomenal, albeit a splurge. The Supergoop! Mineral Mattescreen is also on my wishlist for the sale.

I was surprised by how much I loved this. Its light, fresh scent dissipates quickly. It applies like butter but transforms into an oil, absorbing beautifully and leaving skin incredibly soft and smooth. See the before-and-after pictures below!
