Proof transition blush is a technique and not a product HOWEVER ☝🏼(hot take and beauty community history incoming) someone making a product based around a trending technique to make it easier should NOT be an issue?? I’m confused. ALSO we first saw this technique and look mainstream on Kylie Jenner by ARIEL in 2020/21 and everyone, I mean EVERYONE, tried to achieve the look and tried to figure out what products and THEN there was the baby pink blush boom bc of it. Everyone assumed it was that Dior blush and that’s why it originally went mega viral. But none of the blushes achieved the look and Ariel FINALLY showed how he used so many blushes and different products to achieve the look (not one blush) So I’m actually extra confused how the whole internet got this whole drama so wrong? Ariel single handedly started the mainstream trend on Kylie Jenner and everyone scrambled to figure out how to do it and then baby pink blush exploded, THEN the baby pink setting powder boomed, followed by pink concealers/correctors. Followed then by his brush set with morphe including the most popular blush brush he used for his technique. But I still wouldn’t say it’s his either bc LipstickNick did it on JaclynHill for her campaigns. And bc Esther put her spin on it and made it more dramatic for her version that doesn’t mean it belongs to her either. Also I’m confused on why people are mad Patrick Ta created a product around a trending technique? Where was this outrage when brands started making blur liner bc of Nina Park and her lip liner technique??? Or when Mary Phillips created an underpainting palette when it’s not her technique??? Also everyone is VERY confused how trademarks work. Patrick trademarking “transition blush” means he trademarked that as a product NAME in the makeup category. The same way Mario did with “master mattes” or Aritzia does with “everyday luxury” - it’s common to trademark the name of your product or line in your category not an evil tactic. I’m not defending anyone or their past actions I’m just saying everyone really has this wrong and everyone is just following along and it’s WEIRD!#transitionblush #paintedbye
