my thoughts: swapping foundation for tinted spf is a summer makeup trend I’m totally on board with but if you are looking for performance AND protection, I have some thoughts. I think the elf one is good. Especially for being mineral spf and $18. Is it my fave? No. My fave is the Naked Sundays beauty screen for the foundation step. That brings me to why mineral spf is the queen especially if you have acne, rosacea, sensitive skin, malasma, or are trying to prevent or lessen hyperpigmentation and/or aging. Mineral is the way to go and is often only NOT chosen bc of the cast it can leave or its texture. Mineral spf works by physically blocking the light from the skin. Chemical filters go into the skin, then the UV ray goes into the skin and is dispersed as heat by the chemicals. That heat and that deep absorption of the chemicals can be troublesome for lots of issues. There is so much new tech for mineral sunscreens.
